Skinstitut Peels

Skinstitut peels are made from a variety of potent cosmedical skincare ingredients such as botanical vitamin A, natural fruit acids and enzymes.  There are a variety of different peels available, some more intense than others. Your therapist will guide you on which choice is best for you depending on the specific skin concern and quality of the skin.

  • AHA Enzyme Peel

    (hydrating, lightly exfoliating, calming)

This gentle, micro-exfoliating treatment uses Papain Enzymes to gently polish the skin without irritation. Vitamin B3 strengthens the immune defence and reduces inflammation. White chamomile, Vitamin B5 and Hyaluronic Acid help soothe and hydrate. Skin is left clear, bright and hydrated while dryness, flaking and sensitivity is no longer.

  • Peel Accelerator

    (brightens, renews and smooths)

This treatment suits most skin types to renew, brighten and smooth skin.  It is especially beneficial for melasma, mild pigmentation and acne and acne related symptoms. The peel is made up of a mix of lactic, glycolic and mandelic acids to help boost your natural luminosity, decongest skin, strengthen the skins immune defence and has anti-inflammatory ingredients to soothe and calm.

  • Ageless Peel

    (firms, hydrates, renews)

This skin rejuvenating antioxidant and amino acid peel assists with visible signs of ageing and sun damage. Using a combination of cosmeceutical grade Vitamin A, an exfoliating AHA blend, Amino acid and Ceramide Complex, this peel works on a deeper level to normalize cell production and encourages a smoother, more even and revitalized complexion.

  • Purple Peel

The purple peel is ideal for those suffering from acne or acne related symptoms as this AHA/BHA cosmeceutical-grade peel boasts anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to help clear, resurface and strengthen the skin. Texture and tone are also resurfaced and rejuvenated which means you will also see a noticeable improvement in sun damage and pigmentation. This peel combines Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Mandelic Acid for smoother, more even and more radiant skin.

It is recommended to complete 4-6 sessions 2-4 weeks apart and then have 4 maintenance sessions per year if needed.  Your therapist will assist in determining which peel or which cocktail of peels will best suit your individual needs.

Preparation and downtime:

Although some of the peels do not require preparation, some of them do require you to be using specific homecare for 2 weeks prior to your peel. Your therapist will advise you if this is required for your treatment. There is no downtime for the AHA Enzyme Peel, however for the remaining peels, you may experience some redness, inflammation and mild to moderate peeling for 1-5 days post peel. The stronger the peel, the more intense the downtime is.
