What to expect during treatment

This two-step process firstly involves an application in clinic of a de-pigmenting mask. This mask is not washed off for 6-10 hours following your in-clinic visit (the length of time will be determined by your therapist during consultation as it will depend on your skin type). The second part of the treatment is an at-home maintenance solution that is applied twice daily to enhance the effects of the mask.

Preparation and Downtime

Clients must be using the mesoestetic peel booster 4 weeks prior to Cosmelan treatment and have a Meso Lactic Peel 2 weeks prior to Cosmelan treatment.  Post treatment, once the mask is washed off, it is normal for the skin to be red and slightly irritated. Your skin may also feel tight and slightly uncomfortable. The skin may feel tender for up to 10 days post treatment and you may experience redness and peeling for up to 30 days post treatment.

How many sessions are required?

Most clients will achieve the desired effects after only one session.  There is also a range of homecare products that can be used in conjunction with the peel which will assist in providing longer results.  It is unlikely that even with severe cases of pigmentation, that a client will require more than three sessions.
